Curated by Outdoor Arts Italia
Basque Street Arts Italia takes shape from the collaboration launched in 2024 between Outdoor Arts Italia and Artekale, consolidated in 2025 at Umore Azoka and reaching in 2026 its first step of development.
On June 18–19, 2026, within the framework of the Terminal Festival in Udine, the focus will present a selection of Basque street arts and contemporary circus companies, offering attending professionals the opportunity to closely explore one of the most dynamic scenes in Euskadi.
The thread running through this edition is street arts, contemporary circus and performing arts in border territories, a theme that opens up the concept of border in all its dimensions. Friuli Venezia Giulia, a European geographical frontier, becomes a cultural crossroads, a territory where different systems meet and where production processes experiment with new models of collaboration.

14:20 — Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Basque Country: supporting performing arts in borderlands
Interview dialogue
Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Basque Country share a border position and a cultural vocation that goes beyond administrative boundaries. This session offers a structured reading of support policies for street arts, contemporary circus and performing arts in the two territories. A concrete exchange between those who design and inhabit these policies: tools, resources, governance models, strategic visions.
With Ana Lopez-Asensio — Director of cultural promotion and cultural and creative industries of the Basque Goverment, Basque Country
Anna Del Bianco — Friuli Venezia Giulia Region
Moderated by Eleonora Ariolfo — Outdoor Arts Italia
15:20 — Markets, networks and cooperation: who moves the performing arts
Street arts and contemporary circus move through complex ecosystems: regional circuits, national networks, festivals, established theatres, intermediary organisations. How do these actors connect? Who ensures the circulation of performances beyond local borders? And what role do network organisations play in building infrastructures for international cooperation?
The session unfolds in two moments: first, an overview of the Italian distribution system through the voices of those who operate within it; then, a look at intermediary organisations working on a European scale. Objective: identifying critical nodes and opportunities on which the sector can build together.
The sessions on 18 June will be held in Italian and Spanish with simultaneous translation into English.

Starting with the performances, the professional audience will be invited to engage with artists, practitioners, and organizations on the relationship between local areas, creative processes, and circuits, reflecting on the real conditions of production and mobility of performing arts in public spaces in Italy.
